AGROECOLOGY CENTER

EL-THREE agroecology Centre is located in Nebbi, Jukia Hill, Nebbi Municipality and is the first youth agro-ecology Centre whose major objective is to streamline agro-ecology practices and livelihood production among Young people and rural communities in WestNile through knowledge sharing, partnership and use of available resources to impact lives.

Through agroecology, we offer a comprehensive and farmer-friendly program to promote food production. By nurturing biodiversity, enhancing soil health, and adopting water-efficient practices, agroecology empowers farmers to cultivate harmony with nature.Other programs include Farmers’ Leadership, Entrepreneurship in Agriculture, and Agroecology and Climate Justice.

Operation Coverage includes WEST NILE Districts, municipalities and Cities. The core idea behind the establishment is to protect, promote and steward nature’s resources in order to sustainably increase agricultural outputs, optimize relationships between people and environment as a whole and address social and cultural issues that hinder equitable food systems and escalates climate change impact.

OUR PROGRAMS

Farmers’ Leadership; We believe in the power of community-driven change. Our programs equip local farmers—especially youth—with the skills and knowledge they need to become leaders in their communities. Through farmer-led training, mentorship, and collective action, we help them develop sustainable agroecological practices that benefit both the land and their livelihoods. Our approach emphasizes resilience, self-reliance, and long-term impact, ensuring that farmers are at the forefront of the movement towards a more just and sustainable food system.

Entrepreneurship in Agriculture; Agriculture is not just a way of life—it’s an opportunity for growth. At EL-THREE, we nurture the entrepreneurial spirit within our communities by providing young people and women with the tools and skills they need to turn their agroecological practices into viable businesses. We offer training in business development, financial management, and market access, enabling our farmers to scale their operations and create sustainable income streams that support their families and communities.

Agroecology and Climate Justice; Our commitment to agroecology is rooted in the belief that farming should work in harmony with nature. We promote environmentally friendly farming methods that restore ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and mitigate the impacts of climate change. By integrating traditional knowledge with modern innovations, we empower communities to practice farming in a way that protects the environment while addressing pressing climate justice issues. Our work not only contributes to food security but also ensures that rural communities are at the heart of the global climate movement.
