Our vision is to witness improved rural livelihoods and the establishment of sustainable food systems that benefit all.
Our mission is to promote agroecological principles and rural entrepreneurship through farmer-farmer knowledge sharing.
AGONET stands for Agroecology and Governance Network. We are a community-based organization registered in Uganda to empower young people to play an active role in shaping sustainable food systems and addressing climate change challenges.
Youth Empowerment:AGONET is dedicated to empowering young people by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and platforms they need to become leaders in agroecology. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and leadership programs, we enable the next generation to actively participate in the transition to sustainable agricultural practices to build resilient communities capable of addressing complex environmental challenges.
Climate Action:Through our El-Three Agroecology Centre, we promote agroecological approaches that integrate local knowledge, biodiversity, and sustainable land management practices. Our programs focus on practical, nature-based solutions that enhance food security, restore ecosystems, and strengthen the capacity of communities to withstand climate impacts.
Social Responsibility & Accountability:Our work is grounded in a deep commitment to social responsibility and accountability. We engage communities in meaningful dialogue, ensuring that their needs and perspectives are integrated into policy and practice to create a just and equitable food system where everyone has a stake in decision-making.
